On the Path to the Federal Profile of the IoT Device Cybersecurity Capability Core Baseline: NIST Wants Your Feedback!

The Cybersecurity for the Internet of Things (IoT) program team recently posted to GitHub a draft catalog of device cybersecurity capabilities and manufacturer and user supporting activities based on NIST IR 8259, Recommendations for IoT Device Manufacturers: Foundational Activities, and NIST IR 8259A, Core Device Cybersecurity Capability Baseline. These capabilities and activities are a step in the process of developing a profile of NIST IR 8259A for the Federal Government customer base (a “Federal Profile”). In this video Michael Fagan, technical lead for the NIST Cybersecurity for IoT program, and Rebecca Herold, CEO of The Privacy Professor consultancy, describe the path that lead to the GitHub posting and its role in developing the Federal Profile.
