Artificial Intelligence Seminar: Emerging Capabilities of AI-Enabled Intelligent Agents

<div>Increasingly, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technology is being applied to transform traditional expert system applications into next generation intelligent virtual agents. This talk will review current and emerging AI-based approaches to such assistive agents with an eye towards a future AI-supporting workforce. Current and anticipated applications, and impacts to various industries, as well as organizational transformative needs will be discussed. IPsoft will describe how they’ve applied AI and ML to create Amelia, a digital virtual assistant that responds to natural language conversation (current and historical context) and senses and responds accordingly to an individual’s mood and purpose (intent). Amelia also integrates supervised learning, knowledge and advanced analytics, and organizational workflow. Two applications of Amelia will be demonstrated, including one as a conceptual Lab Assistant.</div><div><br></div><div>The NIST Artificial Intelligence (AI) Community of Interest is pleased to host this first session of what is to become an ongoing series of talks on emerging topics in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
