<a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.uwec.edu/files/5236/FF-Smith.pdf">Increasing Students' Active Participation In and Outside of the Classroom through a Community-Based Course</a><br><br>This presentation describes and details the positive effects that a community-based Spanish course has had on increasing students’ willingness to communicate in the target language both in and outside of the classroom. Drawing upon the theoretical framework of willingness to communicate (WTC) provides a model to demonstrate the benefits of community-based experiences in second-language programs and, potentially, other disciplines.<br>
